Abstract

The paper estimates the steady-state growth rates for Thua Thien Hue province during the period of 1996-2020 by applying an extended the Solow (1956) growth model when total factor productivity is assumed a function of foreign direct investment, trade openness and human capital. The results indicate that foreign direct investment, trade openness and human capital positively affect the local economic growth. Significantly, human capital is an important contributor to the growth of the local economy.
