Abstract
Developing innovation capability is considered as an important competitive strategy by Vietnam government and enterprises. However, domestic agricultural firms have not received sufficient supports to improve this capability. One of the main reasons is that there is not a valid measurement to capture this capability in Vietnam agricultural firms. This study reviews the measurement of innovation capability in SMEs to propose a theoretical framework that is suitable for Vietnam agricultural firms. Secondary data were collected from 55 papers published in both international and domestic journals. It appears that there were diverse approaches in measuring innovation capability in SMEs. The study suggested a framework capturing innovation capability in Vietnam agricultural firms via five factors.
