Abstract
Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) is an important strategy for the North Central region, which is heavily affected by extreme weather conditions. This study synthesizes and evaluates farmers' perceptions of the advantages and disadvantages of adopting CSA practices in crop production, specifically rice and vegetable cultivation in Quang Binh province. The results show a difference in the perception of the advantages and disadvantages of CSA adoption between the adopters and non-adopters/traditional farm households. Most households have recognized the benefits and challenges of applying CSA, in particular, different CSA practices have different advantages and disadvantages. The study provides policy recommendations related to raising awareness and strengthening capacity for farmers, supporting financial resources, increasing investment in developing infrastructure systems, and improving understanding and technical knowledge of CSA practices for local leaders and managers to encourage localities to transition to CSA models sustainably.
