Abstract

The behavior of investors who do not rely on market signals but copy investment decisions of other investors is one of the common phenomena in the stock markets. Herd behavior is formed by the convergence of said investment behavior in the stock market. The topic of herd behavior has become a topic of interest to researchers, but has not yet been fully studied in developing markets. The objective of this study is to determine the herd behavior on the Vietnamese stock market during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study uses cross-sectional absolute deviation and percentile regression to assess herd behavior for the period 2016 to 2021 with 379 companies listed on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in Vietnam. The experimental results confirm the existence of herd behavior on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.
